So why Your Song?
For so many reasons.  The song by Elton John was "given" to me by my late father. I remember being in the car with him in 1996 listening to it, after we sang our hearts out he said "this is your song".  So much of it rings true to our relationship that it means the world to me.

"I hope you don't mind
That I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world"

Songs to me play a huge part in my memories.  We all know the song that was playing when we hit milestones in our life, not to mention the first dance at a wedding, the song that was playing all the time when you got your exam results or the song that always makes you smile.... the list goes on.

During my pregnancy my song was definitely Jess Glynne's 'No Place I'd Rather Be', it was on all through the summer and the words were for me.  Even now it puts a smile on my face.   "I'm ready for this"

But when my baby came, there was no music, there was no song... there was just noise, busy noise that I couldnt turn off.

My recovery song found me by accident while I was in the fifth week of my residential stay in a mother and baby unit.  There were lots of adverts on TV's for music albums as it was coming up to Christmas. The words from the Ed Sheeran's song "Photograph" suddenly all made sense.

"Loving can hurt
Loving can hurt sometimes
But it's the only thing that I know
When it gets hard
You know it can get hard sometimes
It is the only thing that makes us feel alive

You won't ever be alone
Wait for me to come home

Loving can heal
Loving can mend your soul
And it's the only thing that I know (know)
I swear it will get easier
Remember that with every piece of ya
And it's the only thing we take with us when we die"

I found my song, I found my fight and I got better.  Now once again music fills our house and our babies life... I want to help you find Your Song
Your Song, Elton John
